Tim Chavez: He was a political columnist for 10 years for The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville. He contribute commentary to Hispanic Link News Service in Washington, D.C. over the Scripps-Howard wire. He has been diagnosed with leukemia. By the grace of God, he is alive to write this blog. He claims no ideology or party. He believes in creating change for Americans without health care insurance, for wounded veterans needing more help and for Hispanic immigrants denied human dignity for the contributions they bring. He has won national reporting awards for commentary from the Education Writers Association in Washington, D.C. and the Will Rogers Humanitarian Award from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
